Still Working On Jackson Hole Poster

As I said before, I want to get at least one actual product out before the end of this season. I’ve been working on making a poster of Jackson Hole in an ancient copy of Illustrator, only to find that it’s incapable of exporting a large enough file to a format acceptable to Cafe Press. So now I’ve tested the export with Xara, and it looks beautiful as a 7 meg, 300dpi file suitable for a 35×23 inch poster, and crisper than I thought jpeg was capable of.

But I will have to redo a lot of the trail names I had done in Illustrator because Xara doesn’t import text on a path. So there will probably be a further delay of a week or so, as I finish that and then get a proof back from Cafe Press to make sure it looks right and is of good quality.

Once I get the process worked out, making posters for other ski areas should be less time consuming, and I’ll be able to start back on increasing my inventory of ski areas.
