I had 3d Java for a handful of resorts before, but they weren’t really part of my system the way it’s set up now. So there are some that I’ve updated and are newly available as “views” the way I have things set up.
I’ve done eight today, so I expect I’ll be able to finish [...]

More 3D Java: Killington, Arapahoe - Revised 3D Java: Jackson Hole, Park City, Mt. Baldy
Okay, now I’m cranking them out. I’ve got new 3D Java for Killington and Arapahoe (mentioned previously). I’ve revised the 3D Java for Jackson Hole, Park City, and Mt. Baldy to bring it into line with the other new stuff. Links to these were broken for a while, but that’s fixed now.
I’m calling it [...]
Added Java3D for A-Basin, Fixed More Bugs
Demicron has a new version of their very expensive WireFusion Java3D software. I’ve gotten a tryout download that I can use for 30 days, so I’ll be making WireFusion models of all the resorts I have, since the few I do have seem so popular. Now that I’ve got a process down, it should be [...]
Fixed Error In 3D Model Display
I had an error in some code that prevented the 3d display of my models in Flux Player. I’m still not satisfied with the state of 3d plugins at this time. I can’t believe it’s 2007 and we still don’t have a universally accepted and standardized way of displaying 3D models on the web. Demicron’s [...]
Finally, New Arapahoe Basin Views With Montezuma Bowl
Okay, I’ve had the A-Basin t-shirt with Montezuma Bowl for a while, but just now got around to updating the online model and views. The overlay also has a 1000 km scale and lift lines, things which I now need to add back to all the other resorts. Next, though, I’ll make an Arapahoe poster.
Mountain Trail Histograms: Alta, Aspen Mountain, Jackson Hole
I’ve been thinking about how to use my data to rate mountains numerically. Now, I realize that steepness is not the only factor in difficulty, but still, steepness is the only difficulty factor that can be measured completely objectively. So I did histograms of a few resorts, shown here.
What these images show are counts of [...]
Working On Stowe, Disappointed With Data
I seem to get a lot of hits whenever I do something Back East, so I started working on Stowe Mountain, Vermont. Also, it’s pretty tedious and painstaking work, making these maps and the posters and t-shirts, so I like to have more than one thing going at once so I can switch around when [...]
